For the past seven years, the Axelrad family has gathered with the Jackson Hole community in Grand Teton National Park to honor their daughter, Gabriella, who was struck by a vehicle and killed while riding her bicycle in the park in July, 1999.

This past year marked the transition to a Celebration Ride & Walk in Gabriella’s honor to support the recently approved 41-mile Grand Teton pathways system. The Celebration Ride also remembered U.S. Senator Craig Thomas, the powerful legacy he left for all our National Parks, and his support in obtaining congressional funding to begin the pathways development in Grand Teton National Park.

Sen. Craig Thomas’ wife, Susan Thomas, Grand Teton National Park Superintendent Mary Gibson Scott, National Parks Conservation Assoc. board member Gretchen Long, and the Axelrad family were all on hand to observe this important day.

Thanks you to the nearly 200 people who attended the Celebration! We look forward to next year’s ride, when we expect that the Grand Teton National Park pathway construction will be well under way.
