Friends of Pathways: Promoting a complete pathways system, safer streets and great trails for Jackson Hole

Program: Safe Routes to School

Today, more than ever, there is a need to provide safe routes and encourage our children to walk and bicycle to school. Yet sadly, even in Jackson there is traffic congestion around many of our schools and parents pay a high price in the amount of driving time and energy used. At the same time, children in general engage in less physical activity, which contributes to the growing epidemic of obesity and related health problems.

Friends of Pathways works with Teton County School District #1 and Jackson Hole Community Pathways to run the most successful Safe Routes Program in Wyoming. We have created a curriculum specifically for the unique needs of our community. Programs include IBike/iWalk to School events, summer camp safety programs, partnership programs with Teton Mentor Project, Student Commuter Challenge and much more.
