Description

Avalanche Awareness Night is designed to provide the winter backcountry user with valuable information on equipment, clothing, governmental policies/procedures, ski resort programs, local avalanche classes and guide services.  Come out and join us December 1st with Keynote Speaker Dr. Karl Birkeland discussing “Assessing Avalanche Danger: Recent Developments in Stability Tests”.

Other presentations for the evening will be given by Sara Carpenter from The American Avalanche Institute on the ‘Early Season Snowpack on Teton Pass’, Mike Rheam and Bob Comey from the Bridger Teton Avalanche Center will present on new developments with the lab and hotline, Christian Beckwith will present new beacon testing stations, FOP's Teton Pass Ambassador, Jay Pistono will speak about 'Respect and Responsibility' atop the Pass, and Jim Woodmency will discuss the weather, avalanches and the winter forecast!
