Bring gloves, work pants, eye protection, cosed toe shoes, water, sunscreen, and a good attitude! June 5 Skinny Skis' Annual Run & Ride for the Cure: 9:30am Wilson School visit www.skinnyskis.com for more info June 6 Bike-to-Work Day: 7am-10am Pearl Street Bagels (Wilson & Jackson) and the Mangy Moose (Teton Village) Ride your bike to work and stop at Pearl Street Bagels (Jackson or Wilson) or at the Mangy Moose (Teton Village) for a free bagel, coffee and bike check up brought to you by Fitzgerald's Bicycles, Hoback Sports, Wilson Backcountry Sports and Teton Village Sports. We'll be congregating at the Aspens Market, so get out your bike, take a spin on the gorgeous Westbank pathways, and augment your ride with some Green socializing! June 9 Brown Bag Lunch & Shared Roads Discussion - Teton County Administrative Building: 12pm - 1pm What laws do cyclists and motorists need to follow? How can we all learn to "Share the Road" and improve public safety? Join Friends of Pathways, Teton County Sheriff Jim Whalen, Jackson Police Chief Todd Smith, and Pathway Coordinator Brian Schilling for an informal brown-bag lunch discussion of traffic laws and a new 'Shared Roads' campaign aiming to educate cyclists, motorists, pedestrians, and transit riders about the rights and responsibilities of all who use Teton County's roads, sidewalks, and pathways. Commuter Choice Challenge Kick-Off Party: 5pm - 7pm Pica's The CCC is a 4-month long competitive program run by Friends of Pathways. For the past several years, participants have had the opportunity to form teams or compete on their own, logging their non-motorized, non-recreational trips. The contestants with the most miles saved at the end of the contest win prizes. In 2010 over 250 people participated, comprising 61 teams. They saved over 60,000 miles, equaling $8500.00 in gas saved (based on a 2003 Subaru Outback). Free beer, competitions, kids contests and prizes. June 11 Bike Rodeo: Jackson Hole Middle School 9am - 11am: Come out on bikes to Jackson Hole Middle School for a free bike rodeo and bike check-up.
