Backcountry Film Festival to Raise Funds for Teton Pass Ambassador and the Ski Cabin

Join Friends of Pathways, the JH Ski Club and our generous sponsors Skinny Skis and Snake River Orthopedics on November 19th, 2009 in the Snow King Grand Room for an evening of films celebrating non-motorized backcountry recreation. Doors open at 6pm with highlights from Tom Turiano's backcountry ski adventures through the Tetons. Beverages donated by Snake River Brewery and Grand Teton Brewery will be available and a great raffle has been put together which includes dozens of prizes from local and national outdoor recreation companies.


Information will be available from local land management, non-profits and other organizations to promote safe, responsible backcountry travel. The festival is put together by Winter Wildlands Alliance and travels to 30 communities throughout the western United States, from Alaska to Santa Barbara. Funds raised stay in local communities to support backcountry efforts. 100% of profits from the evening will be used to support the Friends of Pathways Teton Pass Ambassador Program and the repair work the JH Ski Club has done on the Ski Cabin. Admission is only $5 and children are free.


Now in its fifth year, the Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival highlights the beauty, diversity, and fun of the winter backcountry. Filmmakers that travel every corner of the globe submit their best backcountry work, and the top films are assembled into a night of fun for all-whether you like to ski, snowboard, snowshoe, there will be something for everyone. This years films include:

 

 

The show will be held on November 19, 2009 at the Snow King Grand Room. Doors open at 6pm with food and beverages available. Come early for best seats and to buy plenty of raffle tickets!
