Last night, Go By Bike riders logged the 25,000th mile, which is roughly the circumference of the earth (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_distance_around_the_world).  This also means 1,527 gallons of gas has been saved and 25,400 pounds of CO2 has not been released into the atmosphere.  What an accomplishment!

Go By Bike is an Active Transportation Challenge brought to you by Friends of Pathways.  The goal of the program is to give Teton County residents a fun way to compete against each other, log miles and track their progress as they leave their cars at home this summer while using their bicycle, skateboard or their own two feet more often for work, errands and social events.

So far, 244 people have signed up and it's not late to join the fun!  Register as an individual or get your co-workers together to create a team. Go By Bike will run through mid-September, so there is plenty of time to participate. The sign-up takes 30 seconds and it's FREE!  You will quickly learn how much gas you're saving and calories you're burning as you log your miles.

To register, login at http://gobybike.friendsofpathways.org/.  Any questions?  Contact Stephanie at stephanie@friendsofpathways.org.  See you out there!
