Go By Bike School Challenge OPEN for Spring Competition with New Features PLUS
iWalk/iBike/iBus slated for April 28, 2010

Based on our incredibly successful fall season, the Go By Bike School Challenge has opened for spring competition. "Last fall, we recorded over 50 participants, 11 schools and hundreds of miles ridden. Kids all over the valley are enjoying the friendly competition and healthy exercise while making school traffic less of a headache for all", said Stephanie Thomas, Friends of Pathways Associate Director.

Friends of Pathways is proud to re-open the Go By Bike School Challenge with brand new features. With funding from the Teton County Recreation District, the School Challenge now allows students and teachers to log bus miles as well as bike and walk trips. School district employees agreed that in order to cut down on congestion around the schools, including bus ridership in the challenge was critical. Other new features include sorting options allowing kids who frequently walk or ride but go shorter distances compete for big prizes and recognition and announcements area keeping everyone up to date with events, prizes and recent accomplishments.

To encourage more students to participate in the spring challenge, Friends of Pathways will partner with Teton County School District to host the annual iWalk/iBike/iBus to school day on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Schools slated to participate are Jackson Elementary, Colter Elementary, Wilson Elementary and Jackson Hole Middle School. With classes starting 2 hours later, more children will have the opportunity to walk, ride or bus to school.
