Dozer line in 5 way On Saturday, October 6th, Friends of Pathways in cooperation with the Bridger Teton National Forest and Teton Freedom Riders are sponsoring a publc trail work day to rehabilitate some trails affected by the Little Horsethief Canyon fire. The trail work day will give residents an opportunity to see and learn about the effects of the fire in Wilson Canyon. The trail work day will focus on a mile of trail damaged by dozer lines in what is referred to as the Five Way Meadow of Wilson Canyon.

In addition to doing trail work, the trail crew will be accompanied by USFS Fire Expert Lesley Williams-Gomez who will discuss the causes and effects of the fire.

People interested in participating should meet in the Phil Baux parking lot at the base of Snow King mountain at 9:30 on Saturday and plan on the event ending at 5 pm. Snow King is generously donating the use of their lifts from 9:30 to 10:30 am.  If you would like to enjoy the free ride, make sure you're at the base by 10:15!

  • Time: 9:30 A.M. until 5:00 PM
  • Where: Snow King parking lot, meet at the Friends of Pathways and Teton Freedom Riders tents
  • Bring: Work gloves, water, & extra food

The day is sponsored by Snow KingHabitat, Eleaven, Pearl Street Bagels, and Kate's Real Food.

Is the chairlift going to be in operation for this, by any chance?

My ankle doesn't fare well with extended downhill hiking. May I bring my bike on the lift for the ride out at the end of the day?

Albert - Yes, the Snow King lift will be able to take bikes up, so you can ride to the work area and ride out at the end of the day.
