Support the Jackson Hole Trails Project: Write the County Commissioners Today!
What is the Jackosn Hole Trails Project?
The Jackson Hole Trails Project is a collaboration between Friends of Pathways, Bridger Teton National Forest, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Snow King Resort. Together, we are applying for a Wyoming Business Council (WBC) Community Enhancement grant to fund a significant mountain bike and hiking trail project. The Trail Project would focus on previously approved trail systems at Teton County's three close to home, main trail areas - Teton Village, Snow King, and Teton Pass. Trail projects include significant improvements to Teton Village hike and bike trails, Snow King summit nature trail and a new SK bike park, USFS trails up Phillips Canyon, upper Game Creek, and completing USFS approved downhill bike trails on Teton Pass. WBC will consider a request up to $500,000.The grant requires 50/50 match, so the total project would yield up to a $1 million investment in Jackson's community and visitor infrastructure.
We need Teton County's help - The WBC grant program is only open to eligible applicants, which is limited to towns and counties. Due to this requirement, the project partners need to ask Teton County to help with being the official grant applicant in order to be eligible to apply for the WBC Community Enhancement Grant. On Monday, August 31st at 9:15 am Teton County will consider being a fiscal agent for this community wide grant.
